Halfling (Homo pilosipedibus)

Most Halflings are natives to the southern regions of the continent of Jotunheim on the planet Elysium. They claim that they have always been that way, even when they first settled on the planet. Some historians speculate that they are the descendants of Post-Humans that came from Earth before The Event. Their mysterious origin, which they rather keep to themselves, is that they were first created as classified genetically modified military units during World War 3 on Earth. First developed by a Middle-Eastern nation in order to create post-human soldiers with the ability to excel in infiltration, subterfuge, and stealth. They were code-named the Mazzikin. A racial name that they still use to identify themselves. During WW3 on Earth, other nations managed to steal the genetic template of the Mazzikin and created their own, but during the war, Mazzikin, or Halflings (as they became popularly known), became unreliable assets. They disobeyed orders and became too unruly for handlers. They tended to feel compelled by a powerful sense of wanderlust, and on top of that, they started to develop a sense of racial identity that crossed national borders, and made them hesitate to act when encountering others of their kind in the battlefield. After WW3, groups of Halflings managed to gain their freedom from military service and eventually ended up on Elysium as colonists looking to create their own community. Halflings have lifespan that's similar to Humans.

Halfling Traits

Ability Score Increase: Your Dexterity score increases by 2.

Age: A halfling reaches adulthood at the age of 18 and generally lives just short of a century.

Size: Halflings average about 3 feet tall and weigh about 40 pounds. Your size is small.

Speed: Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Lucky: When you roll a 1 on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can reroll the die. You must use the new result, even if it is a 1.

Brave: You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Nimble:You can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than yours.

Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Halfling.

Halfling Variant Traits

Lightfoot Halfling

  • Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 1.
  • Naturally Stealthy. You can attempt to hide even when you are only obscured by a creature that is at least one size larger than you.

Stout Halfling

  • Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 1.
  • Stout Resilience. You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance to poison damage.

Ghostwise Halfling

  • Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.
  • Silent Speech. You can speak telepathically to any creature within 30 feet of you. The creature understands you only if the two of you share a language. You can speak telepathically in this way to one creature at a time.
